Garnett Ghost Town

Looking at the map I spotted a small road North of the I90 heading up towards Glacier National Park (our next target). This turned out to be a real winner as not only was it a fantastic workout for the truck but we stumbled across a preserved 1890’s gold mining town.

It was a fantastic experience and it’s hard to believe that in 1898 over 1000 people populated this small conurbation perched on the side of a Montana mountain.

We had a great time wandering amongst the buildings, viewing the artefacts and spotting a beautiful German Overlander in the car park.

The place then offered up a fantastic wild camp for the night.
