Canmore and Banff National Park

After visiting Banff we headed up towards the beautiful Moraine Lake. If you want to get a parking space you have to get there before 4.00 a.m. We took the easy option, parked up at the ski station at around 10.30 a.m. and booked the shuttle bus.

The views, the walks and the wildlife around Moraine Lake are absolutely stunning.

The shuttle bus ticket enables you to hop on and hop off around all of the attractions in the area. We hopped on up to Lake Louise. Unfortunately somebody dragged a rain cloud here just as we were hopping off so we scuttled into the Fairmont Chateau Hotel for coffee and cake served up by a real live scouser.

Once the rain had passed we decided to take the hike up to the Tea House at the side of Mirror Lake. Our day was going well as we arrived 5 minutes after they had shut the doors. Nevermind, the walk back down and the views were stunning.

We finished by parking up with other Overlanders including Next Meridian at the overflow camping
